March Meeting recap

Here's a quick recap of our March Meeting:

1) We are in the process of forming a website committee. Anyone interested in being on this committee please contact April, Allison, or Jen.

 2) Our community service project is in the works as we are helping high school students register to vote- How exciting! Do you remember your first time voting? I'd love to hear every one's experience in the comment section below.

3) Our next meeting will be April 15 at the McGinnis gate house at 6:30. The young republicans group will be joining us and Sara Beth Gregory will be our guest. The menu includes assorted appetizers, prime rib, broccoli casserole, pineapple casserole, pasta salad, romaine salad, hummingbird cake, & pie. If you're planning on attending please RSVP to April and bring a dish if you'd like.

 4) If you haven't picked up your cookbooks to sell yet you may contact Jen or April. They turned out great! They are priced at $15 and are nice hardback binders with many great recipes. (Please note the bookmarks need to be placed in the appropriate section!)

 5) The Johnson County brunch and Fayette Reagan Dinner are scheduled for April 27. There are 4 more seats available for the Reagan Dinner in Lexington at the Marriott Griffin Gate Resort. We'd love to have a full table. The silent auction is at 6:00 and dinner is at 7:00. The Johnson County brunch will be at the Ramada Inn Paintsville, KY at 11:30 am.

  1. Of course I remember my first time voting! It was the 2000 presidential election. I registered republican against a few family members wishes. I was taking my first political science class at UK and became fascinated with politics. I kept thinking, I'm such a conservative, why are so many people in my community democrats? They seem to have the same values and opinions as myself. I marched into that booth and voted for George W Bush for president and devoutly watched all of the coverage on television. It was an exciting time!
